Quick Quote (the application) is being decommissioned!
As part of our goal to get all users onto one quotation system, we have implemented the necessary functionality to create and process quick quotes in agile Quote. With the introduction of Price History last week, the final piece is in place which will allow us to decommission the Quick Quote 1.0 application (introduced in November of 2007). Agile Quotes has a number of advantages over Quick Quote 1.0 including non-ABL manufacturer support and full support for ABL’s CIP program.
When is Quick Quote being decommissioned?
Please make note of two important dates, July 11th and August 1st.Starting today, July 11th, we have disabled the ability to create new quotes in the old Quick Quote application in agile. This is the next step in decommissioning the web based Quick Quote application and in moving the quick quote process to agile Quote.
On July 11, 2011:
- You will no longer be able to create new quotes using the “New” button or the “Copy” button in the Quick Quote application.
- The ability to Open, Confirm, and Convert quotes in Quick Quote will remain in place to allow you to finish processing any existing open quotes.
- Any new distributor requested quotes in LDC will now go to agile Quote instead of Quick Quote.
- Now the tools needed to specify which agency users receive the notification e-mails for LDC distributor quote requests have been moved to the agile Quote Dashboard Admin page (previously only used for unlocking locked quotes).
On August 1, 2011:
- We will be turning off the Quick Quote application in agile for all users.
- After August 1st any quotes that still need to be processed will have to be reentered in agile Quote.

What’s next?
The Reporting Project Team is working to get Quick Quotes into the standard Agency Reports. We hope to have this in place over the next few weeks.
