Upcoming Changes to the ABL Construction Type

The ABL Construction Type selection in agile will be enhanced on Monday April 18th, 2016. Available selections have been changed to more accurately reflect current industry terminology and to provide more robust reporting on the dynamic market for lighting renovation.

These selections will include: New Construction, Renovation – Planned, and Renovation – Unplanned, and the following definitions have been provided for each:

  • New Construction:  A project that is an entirely new structure or a significant extension to an existing structure.
  • Renovation – Planned:  A renovation project that involves a full restoration of an existing space, including materials and equipment other than just lighting and lighting controls.
  • Renovation – Unplanned:  A renovation project where a retrofit or replacement of existing lighting and/or controls is performed.

An “Additional Information” icon is provided to the right of the dropdown if you ever need a visual tooltip to clarify these definitions within agile.

All Flow orders, including ones generated from Quick Quotes, will require the selection of the ABL Construction type.  Quick Quotes will only require the selection of the ABL Construction type if converted to an order, or if a review is requested on a quick quote that is over $10,000 USD.

If additional information is needed, please contact your Sales RVP.
