Product Configurator “Send To” Submittal Improvements

New functionality in the Product Configurator now allows you to specify which project and submittal you want to push configured lines to.  This provides you with much more flexibility when pushing lines to a project and submittal.  The below steps guide you through these changes.

Please note that this change only applies when pushing to a submittal, while working directly in the Product Configurator – if you are pushing from a quote or hold order to the Configurator and back the current process remains the same.

To Send Configurations to a Submittal

Configure the line or lines in the Configurator.  Click the “Send To” button from either the line or from within the product basket.

Enter a project job name and then click “Next”.

A project search will occur that searches across project job names and project aliases.  If no similarly named projects are found a new Project Container and submittal will automatically be created for the previously entered Project Job Name.

If a similarly named Project Container is found you will be taken to a project selection dialogue where you can pick to add the lines to a submittal on an existing project, or still create a new project and new submittal.

Note:  If you don’t see the project you are looking for and it is older than a year uncheck the box at the bottom of the window.  This is checked by default and causes only the last 12 months’ worth of projects to show in the dialogue.  After making a selection click “Next” at the bottom of the window.

A new project container and submittal will be created if “Create A New Project Container” was selected.

If you select an existing project container that does not contain submittals, a new submittal will automatically be created.

If you select an existing project that does contain existing submittals, you can pick to either add the lines to one of the existing submittals or still create a new submittal.

The configured product lines will then be displayed in the submittal grid on either the new or existing submittal.
