New RFA request type of Modification will be replacing RFD
Starting on Wednesday June 5, any new requests for modified products should be entered using the Agile Request for Assistance (RFA) application. Just like with RFD, you can create your RFA modification request from a quote line. You can also initiate the process from the RFA dashboard or the Request tab of the Project Container. You will continue to have access to existing RFDs but will be unable to create new ones. RFD approved products will continue to flow through the system, but once expired, should be resubmitted using RFA. Initially, all agents will be moving to the new process with the exception of Holophane and AEL agents who will be integrated at a later date.
Key features and benefits of the new tool:
- New Designation: Modified product nomenclature will have the MEZ suffix plus a 6-digit number making it easy to identify products from the RFA process .
- Automated Pricing: MEZ pricing is now integrated into Agile Quotes. Once a modification has been approved, the system will automatically populate the approved MEZ price and commission % onto the quote line with a pricing approval of MAP. A real time-saver!
- Faster entry: The new process gives you the ability to copy fields in the modification form to other products thus allowing you to more easily enter multiple requests at the same time.
- Consistent location: Adding modification requests to RFA allows you to access your various Acuity requests in the same application, thus streamlining your daily work.
- Improved Processing Efficiencies: Efficiencies in the application make it easier for the Acuity teams to process your request
- Modern technology: The RFA application was built with the latest technology platform resulting in a more stable and user friendly experience.

To create and submit a new RFA Modification:
1. From the RFA dashboard click New Request
2. Input Job Name.
3. Select request type of Modification
4. Click New Line to add a new line. Input your information (Qty, Catalog #, Product Group, and Modification are required). Continue this process until all lines are added. You can also utilize the Copy function to streamline entry. Copy New will copy information from one line and create a new line(s). The Copy To allows you to copy information down from one line to another. For example, you have multiple lines with the same modification. You can copy it down from one line to rest of the lines on your RFA.
5. Page to the Notes and Documents tab adding information as needed.
6. On the submit page make sure your name is the selected rep contact before clicking submit.
7. Or you create your Modification request directly from a quote line. Select your quote line(s) then click the Modification button.
Filtering to the new Modification dashboard:
- Launch RFA.
- Click on the dashboard drop down and select Modification Dashboard. You will then see a tiered view showing both the project level information (RFA) and the individual modification lines belonging to that RFA. You can make this your default if you so choose.
