New nUpdater and nPOD GFX Reminder
This notice covers the following topics:
- nUpdater Update – Introducing custom screensaver uploads through nUpdater for the nPOD TOUCH.
- nPOD GFX End of New Sales – Effective July 31st, 2021, we are ending new sales of most nPOD GFX variants.
nUpdater Update
In order to further reduce startup times for jobs that include the nPOD TOUCH, we have released a custom screensaver interface in the nUpdater application that reduces typical upload times by ~75% when compared to upload times through SensorView.
Additional changes include:
- Ability to select which nComkit will be used for communication.
- When updating multiple nPOD TOUCHs together, all nPOD TOUCHs will be sent to bootloader mode before firmware update files are sent.
- Introduced countermeasures to aid in disabling computers from falling asleep while firmware update is in progress.

- Note: The firmware files are archived in ZIP files and must be extracted to be used on the nUpdater application
nPOD GFX End of New Sales – Reminder
This is a follow-up to Controls Insider #167 from March 2021. With the popularity of our nPOD TOUCH family as the preferred touchscreen wall station, we are ending new sales of the nPOD GFX family effective July 31st, 2021.
The following products/families are being phased out:

Other products that utilize the same physical housing, such as the nGWY2 GFX, will remain available.
Additionally, the nPOD GFX USPOM variants will remain available. These SKUs include:
- NPOD GFX WH USPOM
- NPOD GFX IV USPOM
All new orders entered after the effective date above will be automatically converted to their nPOD TOUCH equivalent. Should open orders or long-term project specifications exist, please contact your Acuity Design and Application Services team to consider system re-design or crossover.
We will maintain small volumes for an extended duration to support warranty claims through our standard 5-year warranty period. For any field replacements under warranty, please submit the appropriate warranty claim and contact Acuity for assistance.
